Senior Technology Consultant (Networking/Infrastructure)
Responsibilities
* The incumbent will function as the organizations Networking, Infrastructure and Storage technical expert.
* Provide presales support including customer presentations and demonstrations, scoping of customer proposals and development of technical reports.
* Representation of organization at local user groups and conferences.
Education and Work Experience:
* College Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field.
* 5+ years working experience with Windows Server 2000/2003, Active Directory, Citrix Presentation Server, Routers, Firewalls and Storage Area Networks
Essentials skills, competencies and responsibilities
* Perform system administration functions in a Windows networking environment including file and print server configuration and management, performance measurement, tuning and system management.
* Network infrastructure, design, analysis, construction and troubleshooting (LAN/WAN).
* Experience with Firewall technologies (Cisco, Watchguard, Netscreen).
* Server architecture, requirements gathering, design (hardware/software), implementation and testing.
* Enterprise backup and recovery solutions (Veritas, ArcServe, Tivoli).
* Design, test, document and implement disaster recovery plans (DRP).
* Implement virtualization technologies (VMware, Microsoft Virtual Server).
* Scope, design, analyze, implement and troubleshoot Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions.
Preferred skills/competencies
* MCSE or MCSA certification
* Citrix CCEA or CCIA certification
* Cisco CCNA Certification
* VMware ESX Server experience or VCP Certification
* IBM Certified Specialist /Systems Expert in any of the following areas: System x Technical, Windows 2000/2003, IBM Director v5.2, High Performance Servers, IBM BladeCenter or Storage Networking Solutions

Other Requirements:
* The incumbent will be required to work occasionally during non-business hours at nights and/or weekends as required to support the customer base. Travel to various client sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area is required.
