MORRISVILLE, N.C. – Freudenberg IT (FIT), a global leader in managed IT services, opened a new facility in Košice, Slovakia this week. With the opening, FIT strengthens its global presence, while meeting customers‘ growing requirements for worldwide IT service and support.
Located in the heart of Europe, Košice is known as the“Silicon Valley” of Slovakia. Working in close collaboration with the other global offices, the Košice facility bolsters FIT’s ability to deliver 24×7 service to its customers. FIT employees also benefit from the new site because projects can be transferred at the end of a workday to another office in another time zone, thereby improving operations and workflow efficiency. All told, the location in Košice features state of the art technology and infrastructure, providing secure data transfers to the other sites around the globe without any delay.
“In recent years a surge in tech-oriented business growth has sprung up in the region of Košice,” states Milan Stevkov, Head of Operations of FIT Slovakia. “Today, there’s a ‘Silicon Valley’ inspired cluster of organizations consisting of universities, local government and well-known global technology companies in the area. FIT is right at home here and can benefit from the wealth of local SAP expertise as well as the abundance of skilled graduates and students looking for a chance to work on a team with an entrepreneurial culture like the one FIT offers.”
“It’s wonderful to be a part of the Košice community,” says Horst Reichardt, Global CEO of FIT. “The region is ripe with IT talent to add to our team and allow us to match the ever-expanding requirements of our global customers. By the same token, FIT’s enhancing the community by offering the region’s workforce additional opportunities to grow with a great company. It’s definitely a win-win scenario.”
The inauguration of the new Košice office was celebrated on July 14 with FIT executives and new employees, as well as with many representatives from local business, government and universities.
