Cintas is a well-known facilities services and uniform company whose iconic white delivery and service trucks visit nearly one million customers annually throughout North America.
Cintas decided to consolidate a network of homegrown and siloed legacy systems – an incongruous landscape that proved costly to maintain, created inconsistent customer experiences, and made it difficult for Cintas to understand its customers’ purchasing habits.
“Our environment was challenging to support from an IT perspective, and from a business perspective, it was not easy to actually see what customers were doing.”
Matt Hough, Cintas
Cintas accomplished its systems consolidation by decommissioning the bulk of its legacy applications and implementing a single instance of SAP ERP to run mission-critical processes for each of its business units. At the same time, Cintas made another key decision to support its move to a digital-first framework by choosing to host its SAP infrastructure in a private cloud, hosted and managed by Syntax.
Cintas streamlined its IT department to devote more time and resources to enhancing customer service functionality instead of system maintenance and upkeep, fast-tracked the digitization journey with a hosted cloud, and achieved a fresh and clean customer experience.
Dole Package Foods
Dole Packaged Foods, LLC, is a world leader in growing, sourcing, distributing and marketing fruit and healthy snacks. Due in part to corporate divestiture, the company faced a tight timeline to move existing applications away from on-premise while also setting up the latest applications to enable the newly built company – Dole International – to exist and operate independently.
From an IT perspective, Dole wanted to reduce resources while improving performance, disaster recovery capabilities, and security. Each application was evaluated to see if there was a better solution. Dole’s transition to Syntax’s Managed Cloud Services allowed the company to improve its capacity and disaster recovery capabilities that wasn’t affordable in-house, access additional skills and resources without increasing headcount, and free up capital to invest in strategic initiatives.
Faced with a growing appetite for data, international food manufacturer Aryzta saw a shift toward digitization and in increase in the volume and variety of data that they need to collect, analyze and mange. As they prepared for a data-driven future, the company found that its existing data warehouse was struggling to keep up to speed with these and other innovations in the sector.
With years of experience using SAP solutions, Aryzta was eager to upgrade to the latest version of SAP Business Warehouse powered by SAP HANA®. However, the company found that the available SAP HANA appliance was simply too large for its needs. Aryzta engaged Syntax, which recommended deploying the SAP Business Warehouse powered by SAP HANA application on IBM Power Systems in a private cloud.
“With SAP HANA hosted by Syntax on IBM Power Systems, Aryzta is building a stronger understanding of consumer behavior. The simplified infrastructure enabled by the private cloud approach helps us meet the demands of a digital tomorrow.”
Anoop Mohan, Division Vice President of IT, Aryzta
Aryzta took a fresh approach to hosting data in the private cloud by choosing the infrastructure as a service approach with Syntax allowed Aryzta to reduce its total cost of ownership by nearly 30%, while also gaining access to round-the-clock support.
Aryzta moved to a private cloud solution opened the door to more opportunities with the ability to enhance and extend core applications by integrating other SAP solutions onto a single SAP HANA instance. Migrating to a private cloud led to changes and improvements for both the IT infrastructure and corporate business processes.
