Syntax Builds Vertical Investments with the Launch of its Global Center of Excellence for Manufacturing

New COE builds Syntax subject matter expertise across the globe to drive growth and strengthen leadership in the Advanced Manufacturing space

MONTREAL – September 13, 2022 Syntax, a leading multi-cloud and mission-critical applications managed cloud provider, announced the launch of its global Manufacturing Center of Excellence (COE). This industry-focused, global innovation hub will bring together experts from across the organization to develop and implement leading-edge technology solutions that are purpose-built for customers within the manufacturing sector.

“With more than 30 years of experience in digital manufacturing, and a large portion of our global customer base operating within this space, we bring a deep expertise to the industry,” said Christian Primeau, Global CEO at Syntax. “Our new Industry Center of Excellence is a strategic commitment to invest further in innovations that will deliver greater customer value, drive growth, and strengthen our global leadership in the sector. Coupled with our proven approach to digital transformation, I’m confident we will spur growth for not only our customers and partners, but for the sector at large.”

With changes around every corner, companies need to have clear visibility into every aspect of operations and the performance of their assets. By embracing market-leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), businesses can transform into proactive, data-driven organizations that are more efficient, customer-focused, and agile.

“Today’s manufacturing companies face numerous challenges, from supply chain disruptions to rising costs and shifting customer demands,” added Björn Bartheidel, VP of Intelligent Industry Services at Syntax Europe. “We help our customers address these and other challenges, by helping them transform their operations to become more cogent and resilient.”

Syntax’s Manufacturing COE will lead the development of a new Digital-Factory-As-a-Service offering that will include solution templates tailored to specific sub-industry segments. The COE will also support the expansion of Syntax’s SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC) practice into North America, which will be led by Illumiti, a Syntax company.

Under Bartheidel’s global leadership, and with the addition of Matt Boyle from Illumiti, the global DMC initiative will deliver this state-of-the-art cloud MES system to customers across all regions. “With the origin of Syntax’s digital manufacturing expertise in Europe, we have brought together the knowledge from our teams in Germany to work hand in hand with the Illumiti team to create a formal global program around DMC,” said Bartheidel.

“Developing innovative, industry-specific solutions is a core part of our company’s DNA,” said Larry Perlov, CEO of Illumiti, a Syntax company. “What is unique about our approach is that we are leading much more than ERP and MES implementations for our manufacturing customers. Beyond the ERP and MES solutions, we also specialize in a broad array of services to establish digital, cloud-based, end-to-end processes that cover the supply chain and address all cloud integration services, security solutions, and the latest capabilities like automation, predictive maintenance, and other Industry 4.0 innovations. We thrive by enabling our clients to leverage these cutting-edge solutions as we help them build smart factories of the future – today.”

Today’s announcement follows the recent launch of Syntax’s global Industry Centers of Excellence. These centers reflect Syntax and Illumiti’s deep knowledge base and robust capabilities in four key industry segments, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction and Operations, Mining and Natural Resources, and Professional Services.
