The latest JD Edwards Upgrade; EnterpriseOne 9.1, has made important advancements to make life better for the end user, and give them better control over their tools—with little to no IT intervention required.

EnterpriseOne 9.1 customers are benefiting from an improved user experience, tightly integrated mobile functionality and full web-based integration. In this post, we share some of the enhancements our customers are most excited about.

Improved Usability
User-enablement is at the core of this release. The user interface (UI) in EnterpriseOne 9.1 has been dramatically redesigned with intuitive graphics that make it simple and fast for users to access multifunctional web applications through their portal into the application.

There are exciting new enhancements to mobile capabilities in 9.1 as well. With ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) workers have the ability take the power of JD Edwards with them on-the-go. JD Edwards was the first ERP software with the ability to run entirely on an iPad and JD Edwards specific gestures make it simple to complete tasks anywhere, anytime.

New smartphone apps have also been introduced in the latest 9.1 release. Users can now perform Purchase Order Approvals, Sales Inquiries, Expense Entry and Approval and Requisition Approvals from their iPhone, Blackberry or Android device.

End-User Productivity Enhancements
9.1 users are fast-tracking their operations with some important time-savers that reduce the amount of clicks it takes to obtain critical information. This includes predictive auto suggest to accelerate searches, rich hover functionality so users can view item-related information without navigating away from the page, as well as ‘Enhanced Query’, which gives users a quick way to create and save powerful searches including the use of value ranges or date ranges.

Breakthrough Reporting
Customers want a simple way to create and manage their reports. For decades, reporting was an IT task and there has been a real demand from end users for powerful tools with simpler functionality all around. One View Reporting is that powerful new tool that enables users to create interactive reports without IT support.

One View Reporting leverages the advanced capabilities of Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BI Publisher) and enables users to easily access and personalize transaction data into customized lists, charts, graphs and tables. They can also use tools they are familiar working with, like Excel spreadsheets for report data.

‘One View Watchlists’ are another great enhancement users are excited about. Using OneView Reporting, users can create a ‘Watchlist’ where they define the information to which they would like to be alerted. They can track different priorities, outstanding tasks that they need to look after, set up functions to track backorders—and all of this information appears on their portal dashboard and doesn’t require any IT skills.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 users are very pleased with all the enhancements made to the reporting function.
